We are starting a weekly mums and toddlers' get together in the Parish Centre. Our first time together is on Thursday 23rd February 2023 at 10am. You are warmly invited to take part.
The Warm Space that we offer is changing its day and time. Warm Space will start anew on Wednesday 3rd May from 10am to noon. We will offer Warm Space once a month on the first Wednesday of the month at that time of the morning.
Our new 100 Club lottery begins in January 2023 with the first draw taking place on Sunday 29th January with a £100 prize. This lottery has a monthly draw, with a £500 prize for the November draw. Subscriptions are £5 per month, payable by cheque or Standing Order only. Please register your membership with Lynn, Sean or Fr Richard.
The interior of our church was recently redecorated by ES Decor of Ossett, who did a wonderful job. Our church, which holds the Lord's presence, is again bright and colourful, in his honour.
Since we all have a responsibility to take part in the Mass on Sundays, we as a parish see that we have a responsibility especially towards families with young children, to support their participation in the Mass and to enable the contribution that both adults and children can make in the life of the parish. We offer the following accompaniment to families. Once a month at the 6pm Saturday Mass there is a Children's Liturgy in the upper room (above the sacristy). This if for children who have not yet made their First Communion. They are called to the front of the church just after the start of the Mass. This monthly event will begin on Saturday 22nd October 2022, and subsequent dates will be advertised in advance. At the 10am Sunday Masses, and starting on Sunday 30th October, a Children's Liturgy will be held in the side-chapel, aimed at younger children. Families will be greeted in the porch on arriving at church and invited to take part in this, if they would like to. If you are 18+ and would like to become a leader, please get in touch. If you would like to assist with these events, please speak with one of the Children's Liturgy leaders.
Our Garden Party is being held on Sunday 2nd July from 11am onwards. This summer event is organised by both the parish and the school and all the proceeds are shared between the parish and the Friends of St Ignatius. You are warmly invited to take part. There will be stalls, games, and refreshments on the school field.
You are most welcome to come to our Choir rehearsals and see if this is something that you would like to be a part of. Our Choir generally rehearses for the 10am Sunday Mass under the tutelage of Rob, our organist and Choir Master. The Choir Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings at 7.30pm in the Parish Centre. Next Rehearsal is 27th April 2023.
